GRE is the abbreviated form of Graduate Record exam
Anyone intending to their masters degree in science or Engineering in the US needs to take up the GRE exams.
Well,it depends. Most first tier Universities would require you to take up the exams. However ,there are few universities that overlook the GRE.
Well, that is difficult to say. The maximum score is 340 and it depends on one's expertise and preparation.
Essentially the GRE exam has two sections, the verbal and the Quantitative. However, there is a analytical writing section that is independent of the two sections.
No,not necessarily. You need to be familiar with high school mathematics. The level of difficulty is higher.
You surely can. You need to brush up on the fundamentals. A proficient Quants trainer could help you do that.
In most cases it is compulsory, however, there are few universities which overlook it.
The GRE General Test focuses on different types of skills, especially those that have been identified as critical for success at the graduate level like for example, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing.
The computer-delivered GRE General Test takes about 3 hours and 45 minutes and consists of three separately timed sections: The Verbal Reasoning section consists of two 30-minute sections, each containing 20 questions. The Quantitative Reasoning section consists of two 35-minute sections, each containing 20 questions.
Three scores are reported on the GRE General Test: a Verbal Reasoning score reported on a 130–170 score scale, in 1-point increments. A Quantitative Reasoning score reported on a 130–170 score scale, in 1-point increments. An Analytical Writing score reported on a 0–6 score scale, in half-point increments.
Yes. Students can use a calculator , but they cannot bring their own. Those who are taking the test on a computer can use the on-screen calculator on GRE quantitative questions. Alternatively, students who are taking the GRE paper test may borrow a calculator at the testing location.
You can take the computer-delivered GRE revised General Test once every 21 days, up to five times within any continuous rolling 12-month period (365 days). This applies even if you canceled your scores on a test taken previously. You may take the paper-delivered GRE revised General Test as often as it is offered.
GRE cost for just signing up : $160 or $190. No matter who you are, you will have to pay to take the GRE. So imagine you sign up without cracking open a single GRE book, and head straight to the testing center. You will spend: $160 if you live in the U.S., and $190 if you live outside the U.S.
Remember that the Verbal (V) and Quantitative (Q) portions of the GRE are scored between 130-170, and the average score falls somewhere around 150-152. The Analytical Writing (AW) section of the GRE is scored between 0 and 6 in half-point increments, and the average hits somewhere around 3.5.
The scale runs from 130 to 170 in both sections. As you can see your maximum score in each section is 170. The total being 340.

The SAT [Scholastic Assessment Test] is an exam administered by The College Board to test college and career readiness. It is primarily used for the purpose of gaining admission to a college in the US . The SAT is widely considered to be the single most important test you take in high school.
The SAT is created by Educational Testing Service (ETS). ETS is paid by the College Board to create the exam. Both of these companies are private.
According to The College Board, the SAT was revised to better focus on testing the skills and knowledge that matter most for college and career success.
Well, you don't need to be an expert at Math.A working knowledge is sufficient and a competent trainer can help you give a reasonably good shot at the exams.
Changes to the new 2016 SAT include changes to the format of the exam, scoring scale, and question types.
The new SAT includes a combined Reading and Writing section, formally called the Evidence Based Reading and Writing section, a Math section, and an optional 50-minute Essay. The Reading/Writing and Math sections are scored from 200-800, for a total composite score of 400-1600. The optional essay is given a score of 2-8; this score will not be reported along with your composite score, meaning your essay score does not affect your composite score. If you forgo the essay writing section of the new SAT, the test will only be three hours long.
The revision in 2016 has led to a removal of traditional SAT sentence completion questions. The redesigned SAT no longer tests rote memorization of obscure vocabulary words; instead, the SAT tests “high utility” words that change in definition depending on the context in which they are used. This means that students will now be required to have a deeper understanding of more commonly used vocabulary words, and will also be required to read entire passages to discern the meanings of words.
Four types of questions will be featured on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section: words in context, command of evidence, informational graphics, and text complexity.
The revision in 2016 has led to the addition of a no-calculator math section, which is worth a third of your math score. The sections of the math test that do allow a calculator also feature questions that do not require a calculator to solve, where use of a calculator could serve to actually slow down the problem solving process. These question types assess how well students make use of appropriate tools.
Four types of questions appear in the SAT math section: algebra, problem solving and data analysis, advanced math, and additional topics. Each of these broader question types may be broken down into more specific math topics.
More generally, the math section of the SAT thoroughly tests your foundational knowledge of math topics in the context of real world situations, involving science, social science, or career related topics.
This is a question with no easy answer. It depends on your strengths and weaknesses. The math section of the test is more advanced and counts more heavily toward your overall composite score, and calculators are only available for certain math sections. This will benefit students who are talented in math or who have taken more advanced math classes. Likewise, the evidence based reading and writing section of the test favors students with strong reading comprehension skills and an in-depth knowledge of English grammar. From College Board’s perspective, the SAT (2016) is more closely aligned with the demands of college and readiness for a career. Students who have done well in all school subjects should benefit from the test changes.
The scores are usually mailed out 4-6 weeks after you take the test.
If the colleges you are planning to apply to only require you to send your highest test scores, you can now take the SAT and SAT Subject Tests as many times as you want. Colleges will only see the scores you want to send them! If the colleges you are planning to apply to require you to send all of your test scores, we recommend you take the SAT a maximum of three times.
The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a 3½-hour standardized exam designed to predict how test takers will perform academically in MBA (Masters in Business Administration) programs. GMAT scores are used by graduate business schools to make admission decisions.
Well ,it depends. Most B-schools in the US will require you to take up these exams.
It depends on the candidate and the level of preparation. You don't need to be an expert at Math, however, you need to prepare smart rather than preparing hard.
No,not at all.It is a comprehensively designed fool-proof exam international exam that is specially designed to test your Aptitude,Verbal and Math skills.
Well, this depends on how much time you have before you.If you had math at high school ,it helps. However that should not be a concern as a competent Trainer can help you get over the Math hurdle.
No,not really. You need to be proficient with high school level math. The degree of difficulty is higher. An efficient quants trainer can help you through the preparation.
Within 20 days of your test, your Official Score Report will be sent to up to five (5) programs that you have selected. You need to choose your score recipients wisely, because once you have made your selections, they cannot be changed.
The cost to take the GMAT exam is US $250 globally.
GMAT scores are valid for five years, and are available for reporting for up to 10 years. Scores over 10 years old, are not available.
GMAT test takers can cancel their score at the test center immediately after their exam, at no additional cost.
The GMAT test lasts 3 hours and 30 minutes, excluding two optional 8-minute breaks that you can choose to take between certain sections.
You can take the GMAT exam once every 16 calendar days and no more than five times in a 12-month period.
Full-Time Students With the Best Scores. Few students will get a perfect score of 800 on the Graduate Management Admission Test, but some will come close. Here are the 10 business schools with the highest average GMAT scores for incoming full-time students in fall 2012.
Your scores will be considered expired if the test was taken more than five years prior to the application deadline.
You are not allowed to bring your own calculator for the exam. A calculator will be provided for use during the Integrated Reasoning section only. Calculators are not permitted during the Quantitative section. You will be provided with note boards and markers to work out your calculations on the Quantitative section.
The four types of Integrated Reasoning (IR) questions measure how well you integrate data to solve complex problems and test the following skills: Synthesizing information presented in graphics, text, and numbers.
Your Total score is based on your Verbal and Quantitative scores; your Analytical Writing Assessment and Integrated Reasoning scores do not affect the Total score. Total GMAT scores range from 200 to 800; two-thirds of test takers score between 400 and 600.
The GMAT Verbal Section is designed to test your command of standard written English, your skills in analyzing arguments, and your ability to read critically. The section consists of 3 question types: Critical Reasoning, Sentence Correction, and Reading Comprehension.
